CEWIT2017 is the premier international forum for presentations of original research results as well as the exchange and transfer of innovative, end-to-end solutions, applications, and systems of emerging technologies in infrastructure, healthcare, and energy – three of the most critical components of a smarter global world. Specific topics of interest include but are not limited to, the Internet of Things; Cybersecurity; Big Data Analytics and Visualization; Health Technologies and Medical Devices; Smart Energy; and Smart Urban Systems, as well as Technological Applications and Tech Entrepreneurship.

Organized by the NYSTAR-designated New York State Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT), CEWIT2017 is a destination for researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs, across borders and disciplines, to exchange ideas, build valuable partnerships, and bring cutting-edge technology to the marketplace. The 2017 program will feature a series of research and entrepreneurial-focused tech talks, workshops, and keynote plenaries at CEWIT’s next generation research and educational facility at Stony Brook University.

Join Stony Brook University’s Intellectual Property Partners on Thursday, October 12, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University for the panel discussion titled “Bring Your New Technology Innovations to Life Through Prototyping and Manufacturing.”

The event will be hosted by Intellectual Property Partners (IPP), the SBU Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), and the Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium (MTRC) and will be followed by a networking cocktail reception from 6 pm to 7 pm.

Center for Biotechnology's Director of Operations, Diane Fabel recently penned an OpEd for the Long Island Business News: "Biotech investments, partnerships key to LI economy".

The Long Island Network for Clinical and Translational Science (LINCATS) will award two $25,000 pilot grants to fund innovative translational science research projects. Each project should address a critical issue in translational science, and be performed over one year. The awards are intended to facilitate new research directions and ultimately result in competitive external proposals.

Postdoctoral fellows and faculty affiliated within LINCATS Brookhaven National Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor, Northport VA Medical Center and Stony Brook University are eligible. Single or multi-investigator teams are invited to apply. Submission Deadline 16 October 2023. Application pdf must be uploaded online.
