Health Innovation Hub Life Science – Applications Open

Health Innovation Hub Life Science by Springboard Enterprises Applications for the Health Innovation Hub: Life Science are open through February 24.
Springboard’s Health Innovation Hub: Life Science is a program for women-led life science and healthcare companies seeking growth funding and connections to experts and strategic partners for product development and expansion. Selected Hub companies are matched with a personal advisory team, tasked with providing a meaningful impact on the company’s next stage of growth. The program, while virtual, engages advisors and investors in a variety of in-person presentation sessions throughout the year and beyond.
Areas of focus for the program include (but are not limited to) drugs, therapeutics, diagnostics, medtech, and medical devices. Our 2020 Health Hub programming has a special focus on Women’s Health Innovation. Cost: $200 application fee ($100 is submitted by the priority deadline). If accepted: $5,000 program fee. Attention Stony Brook University Faculy and Staff: Applications for the second cycle of the President’s Fast Impact Fund (FIF) opened August 3, 2026. Open to all Stony Brook faculty and staff, this special initiative supports immediate-impact projects that can be launched quickly and deliver results within six to ten months.
The FIF provides awards of up to $300,000 focused on low‑investment, high‑reward initiatives that create visible, positive change. Examples of projects that would be considered include specialized equipment or technology acquisitions, pilot programs or proof‑of‑concept initiatives, targeted renovations or seed funding, among other opportunities.
All proposals must include a customized, high-level budget and be endorsed by the relevant vice president or dean with authority to implement the project. Applications for the August cycle will be available beginning August 3 with submissions due Friday, August 21 by 5 pm, ET. [post_content] => The newly re-authorized Commercialization Readiness Pilot (CRP) program is now accepting applications from previously or currently HHS-funded SBIR and STTR Phase II and Phase IIB awardees.
NHLBI open and accepting applications from NHLBI grantees for the September 5th NIH SBIR/STTR receipt date; HHS/NIH general applications will be accepted from August 5, 2019 until April 6, 2022 via standard due dates.
CPR can provide over $3 million in additional funding to facilitate the commercialization transition for projects, and support work that is not typically supported through SBIR/STTR Phase II or Phase IIB awards, including:
- Preparation of documents for a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) submission
- Development of an intellectual property strategy
- Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling studies
- Clinical studies
- Manufacturing costs
- Regulatory assistance
- Subcontracted work to other institutions, including contract research organizations (CRO)
- A combination of services.
Although a significant amount of the work in a CRP award may be subcontracted to other institutions, the Small Business Concern (SBC) is expected to maintain oversight and management of the R&D throughout the award. Stony Brook University faculty and postdoctoral associates, alone or in partnership with companies or CFB-appointed BioEntrepreneurs-in-Residence (BEIRs), are eligible to apply. In all instances, the faculty member or post-doctoral associate must serve as the principal investigator, and the project must be executed on the academic campus at Stony Brook University.
Application Deadline: March 7, 2024 no later than 5pm.
