Join Stony Brook University’s Intellectual Property Partners on Thursday, October 12, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University for the panel discussion titled “Bring Your New Technology Innovations to Life Through Prototyping and Manufacturing.”
The event will be hosted by Intellectual Property Partners (IPP), the SBU Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), and the Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium (MTRC) and will be followed by a networking cocktail reception from 6 pm to 7 pm.

Andreas Grill has served as a BioEntrepreneur-in-Residence for the center for Biotechnology and DepYmed is developing a new drug called Trodusquemine that it hopes will one day treat HER2-positive breast cancer, an aggressive form of the disease. Stony Brook University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is administering a program to provide matching funds for laboratory equipment to successful Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant recipients throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties.
The Program is funded by an incentive package offered by New York State’s Empire State Development Agency to the Stony Brook University Research Foundation and agreed upon in a contract signed May 2, 2014. These matching grants will reimburse up to 20% of the cost for eligible laboratory equipment purchased by SBIR winning companies up to a maximum of $50,000.
If your Long Island-based company has been awarded a SBIR and/or STTR award after May 2, 2014, which identifies your company as active in the federal grant arena, your company may be eligible for this matching grant.
The current time limit of opportunity to apply to the Stony Brook SBDC is April 30, 2025. If all the funds are not expended by that time, the April 2025 date may be extended. Therefore, future SBIR awards, including those currently applied for, may also be eligible for the matching funds.

[post_content] => The Center for Biotechnology, on behalf of Long Island Bioscience Hub (LIBH), is pleased to announce the opening of the 8th round of the LIBH Technology Development RFP.
Two specific funding programs have been designed to help faculty, physicians, surgeons, medical fellows, and post-docs develop their academic innovations toward commercial goals. The RFP is and forms for the funding programs can be found on the Center for Biotechnology website here.

Deadline for submission is Sep 13th, 2019. All proposal should be submitted through the online portal HERE. Please note an approval from your Sponsored Programs Office is NOT required prior to the submission but will be required if the project is selected for NIH secondary review. Eligible applicants will be notified if their application is selected to move forward.
The Center for Biotechnology, in collaboration with Stony Brook University, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, formed the LIBH. A principal goal of the LIBH is to foster the development of therapeutics, diagnostics, devices and research tools emerging from within the four partner institutions that address diseases within the mission of NIH. The LIBH is supported by the National Institutes of Health REACH initiative (Research Evaluation and Commercialization Hub), our four partner institutions, The Research Foundation for SUNY, and Empire State Development.
