Join Stony Brook University’s Intellectual Property Partners on Thursday, October 12, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University for the panel discussion titled “Bring Your New Technology Innovations to Life Through Prototyping and Manufacturing.”
The event will be hosted by Intellectual Property Partners (IPP), the SBU Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), and the Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium (MTRC) and will be followed by a networking cocktail reception from 6 pm to 7 pm.
Moderated by Dr. James Hayward, President, CEO and Chairman of Applied DNA Sciences, panelists include:

[post_content] => Chronus Pharmaceuticals has announced that it has received a $299,172 Phase I Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) award in partnership with the Department of Chemistry at Stony Brook University.
Funding from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will be used to establish feasibility of an antibody diagnostic for detecting childhood tuberculosis. The research will be lead by LIBH Researcher Nicole S. Sampson, PhD in the Department of Chemistry, who will serve as principle investigator on the award and work in close collaboration with Chronus Pharmaceuticals.

New York City based start-up Celmatix has unveiled “Fertilome”, a DNA-based fertility test. The company describes Fertilome as the “first genetic screen that examines a woman’s genetic signature and how it may impact her reproductive health and ability to conceive, today and in the future.”
Fertilome looks at 49 variants in 32 genes associated with a broad spectrum of female reproductive conditions. Information derived from the test could allow women to see a broader picture of their fertility, allowing for a more proactive approach to planning their family and overcoming fertility issues. [post_content] => Gaurav Lalwani, PhD, Biomedical Engineering department at Stony brook University and Center for Biotechnology Fundamentals Program alumnus, has Co-founded Millennial Materials and Devices, a company which was recently awarded second place in the Stony Brook Entrepreneurs Challenge 2015, with a cash reward of $10,000 and $3000 prize in 'DARE to RISK' Business Plan Competition at Farmingdale State University, Long Island Regional Affiliate of the New York State Business Plan.
Millennial Materials will now be presenting at the Finals of New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) in Albany on April 24, 2015 in the Nanotechnology/Advanced Technology category. The NYBPC is the only leading collegiate business competition that is a regionally coordinated, collaborative statewide program representing over 75 colleges and universities, which sets it apart from all other competitions in the nation. Millennial Materials and Devices is working towards the commercialization of a novel proprietary formulation and method to fabricate large-area transparent conductive films for applications ranging from the fabrication of flexible unbreakable displays to electromagnetic shielding and biomedical coatings.
