Join Stony Brook University’s Intellectual Property Partners on Thursday, October 12, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University for the panel discussion titled “Bring Your New Technology Innovations to Life Through Prototyping and Manufacturing.”
The event will be hosted by Intellectual Property Partners (IPP), the SBU Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), and the Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium (MTRC) and will be followed by a networking cocktail reception from 6 pm to 7 pm.

[post_content] => Xiaflex, a drug developed, in part, with support by the Center for Biotechnology, has received a second approval for the treatment of men with Peyronie's disease, a painful curvature of the penis due to the buildup of plaque. The drug is already approved for the treatment of Depuytren's contracture, a condition that causes contraction of the fingers. Additional applications under development include frozen shoulder and cellulite. The drug is marketed by Auxilium. Read more here.

[post_content] => LifeSci NYC has announced the launch of the seventh year of its life sciences entrepreneur training and networking program - Entrepreneurship Lab NYC (ELabNYC). Applications for the 2019 program are now being accepted.
ELabNYC is a six-month entrepreneurship training and networking program for scientists and engineers who are ready to launch their exciting ventures from New York City–based research institutions. Applications are due Monday, October 22, 2018.

[post_content] => New research has found that it is possible to cut down the growth of cancer cells at their earliest stages with a new drug.
Research conducted by leading cancer metabolism researchers at Stony Brook University, Paul M. Bingham and Zuzana Zachar, is showing promise in this approach with their clinical investigation of a new class of compounds that disrupt cancer cell mitochondrial metabolism. In collaboration with Cornerstone Pharmaceuticals, Drs. Bingham, Zachar and colleagues at Stony Brook University are evaluating the basic mechanisms of actions behind this class of agents.
