The purpose of this public health emergency funding opportunity is to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to directly support the needs of the NIAID’s vaccine and treatment clinical trials and clinical studies for COVID-19. This program will ensure that adequate protective equipment is available to directly assist in safely carrying out the clinical activities and direct interactions with the patients participating in the trial. Eligibility is limited to recipients conducting COVID-related clinical research and clinical studies supported by NIAID’s emergency appropriation provided by “The Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2020” and “The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act”. Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx), is a fast-track technology development program that leverages the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Point-of-Care Technology Research Network (POCTRN). RADx is structured to deliver innovative testing strategies to the public as soon as late summer 2020 and is an accelerated and comprehensive multi-pronged effort by NIH to make SARS-CoV-2 testing readily available to every American. The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) is urgently soliciting proposals and can provide up to $500M across multiple projects to rapidly produce innovative SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic tests that will assist the public’s safe return to normal activities. Pfizer has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to provide financial support for organizations producing independent educational programs and quality improvement initiatives designed to combat this evolving crisis. This competitive grant program from Pfizer Global Medical Grants (GMG) involves a publicly posted RFP that provides details regarding a specific area of interest, sets timelines for review and approval, and uses an internal review process to make final grant decisions. For this RFP, organizations are invited to submit an application addressing the gaps in knowledge and practice of COVID-19 management as outlined here.
Mozilla has created a COVID-19 Solutions Fund as part of the Mozilla Open Source Support Program (MOSS). Through this fund, awards of up to $50,000 each will be provided to open source technology projects which are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in some way.
As part of the COVID-19 Solutions Fund, applications that are hardware (e.g., an open source ventilator), software (e.g., a platform that connects hospitals with people who have 3D printers who can print parts for that open source ventilator), as well as software that solves for secondary effects of COVID-19 (e.g., a browser plugin that combats COVID related misinformation)will be accepted. The COVID-19 Manufacturing Grants, part of the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund, are designed to aid existing New York State small to medium-sized manufacturing companies that can meet prevailing FDA requirements and can quickly accelerate production of personal protective equipment and respiratory care equipment that has been depleted due to the COVID-19 outbreak. To be developed by The Albanese Organization, Inc., this state-of-the-art facility would catalyze CGT research, development, clinical manufacturing, and commercialization across New York State. With a historic $150 million state investment—the largest nationwide for a cell and gene therapy hub—NYBGP would accelerate the delivery of new therapies from lab to patient in New York's diverse communities. This transformative hub aims to establish New York as the leading global destination for CGT innovation, driving economic growth, attracting top talent, and revolutionizing patient care statewide and beyond.

[post_content] => The next round of Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund Manufacturing Grants will open on May 1, 2019! Manufacturing Grants are designed to encourage collaboration between companies and non-profit organizations in New York State that work with the manufacturing industry.
Eligible applicants include New York State not-for-profit organizations and applicants must partner with a New York State small or medium sized (SME) manufacturer or other early-stage company with a project relevant to the manufacturing sector. For the purposes of this grant, SME is defined as a business with at least one physical establishment in New York State, and no more than 500 employees across the entire firm or enterprise worldwide.
Eligible projects will include those that are used by the applicant to assist companies with the following types of projects: adoption of new technology to enhance a process and/or product, Prototype development, Design for manufacturing, Proof-of-concept manufacturing, Manufacturing scale-up

[post_content] => The Healthcare Entrepreneurship Community Challenge solicits proposals for new products or services to address a community healthcare problem facing underserved areas in New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley Region.
The Challenge focuses on inspiring entrepreneurs to develop market-based solutions to health problems in underserved communities in downstate New York. A Steering Committee formed of public health experts selects an annual Challenge topic. Entrepreneurs who participate in the Challenge will receive mentorship, participate in a bootcamp and will showcase their innovations and pitch at an annual Regional Symposium.
